Copy The Entire Website Using HTTrack Website Copier

Last week, I went to my parent-in-law hometown and I spend few days and night over there. Spending the holidays time in my parent-in-law house is quite relaxing but unfortunately that house is not equipped with the wireless Internet facility. Because of that absence, my web development task that require me to access the Internet have to be postponed. I need the Internet facility in order to find the information and guide related to my task.

In order to overcome this problem, I went to my brother-in-law’s house just to use his Internet Streamyx facility. Using his Internet Streamyx facility I try to find out any freeware that can copy the entire website which I need to use as a guide when develop my online web-based information system.

Fortunately I found the very useful freeware named HTTrack Website Copier.

It is the free offline browser utility that allow you to download the entire website from its server to your computer hard disk. When I said the entire website, it mean you can download all its related files such as images files (eg: jpeg, png & gif), html files, php files and javascript files. Besides that, this freeware also can copy and arrange all website links that connected from one webpage to the another. So, what you will have is the mirror website which you can view its pages from link to link, same like you view it online.




The Procedures

1. Before you can use the HTTrack Website Copier, you must install and setup it into your computer system.
   
   
   
   
   
2. After the setup process complete, click button Finish to launch the freeware
   
   
   
    
   
3. After you click the button Finish, the HTTrack Website Copier program’s interface will appears. See below
   
   
   
   Select your language preference and click OK.
   
   
   
4. Now you are ready to create a new project.

How To Create A New Project

1. To begin create a new project, click Next
   
   
   
   
   
2. Now, you will see the program’s interface like below.
   
    
   
   Give your new project a suitable name –-> name the project category in the select box –-> you can leave the base path unchanged –> click Next.
   
   
   
3. Now, under the select box Action, choose Download web site(s) –> then, click the button Add URL…
   
   
   
   
   
4. When you click the button Add URL…, the Insert URL’s box will be displayed. See below
   
   
   
   
   
5. Inside the text box, type the website’s URL you want to copy –> click OK
   
   
   
   
   
6. Now, you will see the website’s URL you copied listed in the text area below –> click Next
   
   
   
   
   
7. Click Finish
   
   
   
   
   
8. Please wait while the software copy the website into your local hard disk drive.
   
   
   
   
   
9. Click Finish after the mirroring process complete
   
   

How To Browse The Website Offline

1. Click File –> click Browse Sites…
   
   
   
   
   
2. Then, you will see the interface below –> to browse the website offline, click the website link.
   
   

Create The Encrypted Virtual Disk Storage Using TrueCrypt

The computer had gave a lot of ease to its users to manage their daily work such as typing the document. The computer also can become the effective storage which the users can save various type of document regardless whether they are confidential or not.

Now, I want to focus about keep the confidential document. Of course, keep the confidential document is not same like keep the ordinary document. The computer users need a computer disk storage which is hard to access by the unauthorized users when keep their confidential document inside it.  

To create the disk storage which is secure and difficult to access, you need to apply the encryption technique. For the purpose of that I suggest you to use the freeware named TrueCrypt.

IN THIS ARTICLE I WILL SHOW YOU HOW TO CREATE THE ENCRYPTED DISK STORAGE USING TRUECRYPT. THE DISK STORAGE THAT I WANT TO CREATE IS CONSIDERED VIRTUAL ENCRYPTED. YOU, THEN CAN USE THIS ENCRYPTED VIRTUAL DISK STORAGE TO KEEP YOUR CONFIDENTIAL DOCUMENT INSIDE IT.



The Procedures

In this section, I would like to show you how to create the virtual encrypted disk storage using TrueCrypt. I assume that you had downloaded and installed this freeware into your computer system.

1. Double click the TrueCrypt icon to launch the freeware –-> you will be presented with the interface like below
   
   
   
   
   
2. Based on above, click Create Volume –-> the TrueCrypt Volume Creation Wizard appears like below
   
   
   
   
   
3. Based on above, click radio button Create an encrypted file container –-> click Next
   
   
   
4. At this step, choose the type of volume for your encrypted disk storage. For the novice users, you can click radio button Standard TrueCrypt volume –-> click Next
   
   
   
   
   
5. Start from this step, you will begin to create the encrypted virtual disk storage.  
   
   
   
   For the purpose of that, click Select File… –-> names the TrueCrypt container file (.tc) –> specify the path where you want to save the file –-> click Save
   
   
   
   
   
6. Now, you will notice the path of the TrueCrypt container file (*.tc) in the dropdown menu like below –-> click Next
   
   
   
   
   
7. Choose the Encryption Algorithm as AES –-> click Next
   
   
   
   
   
8. Type the number of volume size inside the text box like below. This size is the size of your encrypted virtual disk storage –-> determine the byte unit (eg: KB, MB or GB) by clicking the appropriate radio button –-> click Next
   
   
   
   
   
9. Type the volume password. You will need this password when you want to access your encrypted virtual disk storage. The strong password is long password and must has special character combining with alphabet and number.
   
   
   
   It is recommended to create the keyfile in order to make your encrypted virtual disk storage become harder to access by the unauthorized users. For the purpose of that, you must generate the keyfile.
   
   
   
10. Click the check box that represent Use keyfiles –-> click the button Keyfiles…
    
    
    
    The box like below will be displayed on the computer desktop. Click the button Generate Random Keyfile…
    
    
    
    Then, the keyfile generator like below will appears. Click the button Generate and Save Keyfile… 
    
    
    
    Names your keyfile –-> specify the path where you want to save the keyfile –-> click button Save
    
    
    
    Click OK when you see the message below 
    
    
    
    Click button Close
    
    
     
    Important Note:
    Please caution that you should not modify the contents of the keyfile after you create it. It is because you will not be able to access the virtual encrypted disk with the modified keyfile. 
    
    
    
11. Click the button Add Files…
    
    
    
    
    
12. Select the keyfile that you created in the step 10 –-> click button Open. 
    
    
    
    click OK –-> click Next.
    
    
    
    
    
13. At this step, you will be prompted to format your encrypted virtual disk storage. Choose the appropriate file system for the disk –-> click button Format –-> please wait.
    
    
    
    Click OK when you see the box like below. This mean, you had successfully created your encrypted virtual disk storage. 
    
    
    
    
    
14. Click button Exit
    
    

How To Use

In this section we will learn how to store your confidential document into your encrypted virtual disk storage.

1. Double click the TrueCrypt icon to launch the freeware –-> you will be presented with the interface like below
   
   
   
   
   
2. Based on above, click Select File… –-> when you see the selection box like below, click to choose the encrypted virtual disk storage (in form of container file) that you had created –-> click Open
   
   
   
   
   
3. Now, you will see the path where the TrueCrypt container file is saved in the drop down menu like below –-> choose the drive letter to represent your encrypted virtual disk storage –> click Mount 
   
   
   
   
   
4. Insert the password –-> click the check box Use keyfiles –-> click the button Keyfiles…
   
   
   
   Then, you will see the interface like below. Click the button Add Files…
   
   
   
   Now, click to choose the keyfile that you had created before –-> click the button Open –-> click OK –-> click OK.
   
   
   
   
   
5. Now, the virtual encrypted disk had been mounted. See below
   
   
   
   If you see inside My Computer, you will see the icon of local disk with the drive letter L:. This local disk is representing the virtual encrypted disk storage.
   
   
   
   
   
6. Now, you can save your confidential document into the local disk (L:) which represent your encrypted virtual disk storage. The document will be encrypted, once you paste it into the disk.

How To Convert PDF File To JPEG File Using FM PDF To JPEG Converter

A PDF file, short form for the Portable Document Format file is a type of file which is free from any compatibility problem of computer hardware and operating system. The PDF file can be viewed in any type of operating system that use any type of computer hardware. Note:
If you do not want to install any software to convert the PDF file, you can use the online service to run the process. But using the online service will require you to have the Internet connection and you only can convert ONE PDF file at a time.



How To Use

At this stage, I assume that you have downloaded the FM PDF To JPEG Converter from the link I provided above. In order to convert PDF file to JPEG file using this freeware, you must follow the steps below

1. Install the freeware into your computer system. During setup process, the installer will prompt you to install the GPL Ghostscript if it cannot be found in your computer system.
   
   
   
   Click to download and install the GPL Ghostscript and proceed the installation process to the finish line.
   
   
   
2. Click to launch the freeware program.
   
   
   
   
   
3. At this step, you will be presented with the interface of freeware program like below
   
   
   
   
   
4. To convert PDF file, click --> the box Add local PDF(s) like below will be displayed on your computer screen
   
   
   
   Click the PDF file you want to convert –-> click . Repeat the step 4 if you want to convert more than one PDF file.
   
   
   
5. Click when you finish add the PDF files you want to convert –-> the FM PDF To JPEG Converter will start convert the PDF files.
   
   
   
   Note:
   By default, the JPEG files that had been produced from the conversion process will be saved into the source folder where the PDF files (that the users added in step 4) are come.
